Gallery Operational

There's still a few kinks to work out with some errors we are getting on the gallery but the gallery is working at the moment.  To get to the gallery go to http://animeroot.com/gallery and check out the beautiful bean footage  There may be a few errors showing at the top of the page.  We are working to rectify this problem but it doesn't appear to be affecting the operation of the gallery.
Happy browsing!

New user creation is temporarily down due to spam bots and fake accounts being created by spammers. We are working to put a lid on this problem but for now a BP style top hat solution has been put in place to slow the flow.

New Website Online

The new Site is up but not complete, in the coming days we will continue to: Add back old content, restore gallery, restore videos, replace the podcasts, sort convention coverage, fix posts, and tweak our layout a bit more. Your feedback has led us to this new site, just a bit longer till its completely online. I should note that some of the features from our last site will not be migrating with the new site, but fear not they will be replaced with new features. More on that later.

Thanks,

Admin

Movie Review: Tales of Vesperia -The First Strike

If you have played the game you owe it to yourself to see this movie, trust me your going to love it. If you have never played the game Tales of Vesperia, well it is still a fantastic movie.

Movie Poster

The story of the movie takes place several years before the events of the game. Yuri Lowel is a new recruit the knights, and is put under the command of a very interesting captain. Alongside Yuri is his child hood friend Flent, and they still don't get along together but can agree with one thing " justice" but how you execute it that's another story. The two main characters and the supporting cast are sent to a town to protect the villagers from the creatures coming from the forest which have been getting stronger by the day. More time passes and some events cause a few twists to happen, and more people die. Something must be done to save the villagers and the forest from total destruction. Can Yuri and the Knights stop the source of evil, or is something bigger hiding in the shadows? Visually stunning, the quality of the animation is great, the colors, texture and frame rate all very smooth and crisp. With many Games that became anime the art style is lost with Tales of Vesperia the game and the movie line up perfectly, and the artists that worked on the game were major players in the movies creation. The same visual team at Bandai Japan, has done well with this franchise, for those who have not played the game its like playing an anime RPG that looks and feels like anime. Bandai did throw in a few shots taken striaght from the game, and used the map on a few occasions.

3D Anime Movies?!

Well it seems like 3D movies are all the rage once again, and people are now paying (out the nose) for it. Oddly enough during these rough economic times people are willing to fork over $20 per ticket to watch a 3d IMAX movie. I don't think consumers realize that most theaters don't have the screen size to deliver a true IMAX experience and yet they are paying more for it. Would you rush back to the the theater if say ghost in the Shell was re-released in 3D? I think I would but as we know not all people can enjoy 3D.

Windows Tan Just Won't Fly in the US but we still love it!

OS Tan

I always ask myself why so many Americans are so very closed minded? But then I'm reminded that Christan culture disagrees with almost everything foreign. Many Americans are still mildly racist and many are very easily offended. This being said is a huge over generalization on my part but its my theory. I think that Americans vary greatly from state to state and thus all have a different tolerance for things strange or different. It seems to start with younger children and how they are raised, what they are exposed to and how their parents view it. Many people raised on video games, reading, and open choice of religion seem to be more open minded and less easily offended by other cultures and forms of entertainment. I recently was reminded by a show on the travel channel about being a good traveler and being an American traveler. That being said if most Americans are poor travelers who basically travel to offend the free world, what does that say about how they behave at home? I could only put 1 and 1 together and find that basically these travelers do not study the culture they are walking into, they could care less about offending strangers and their strange ideas. This theory can be applied to almost anything anime and gaming culture included.

If American education was better or maybe children were introduced to different cultures more often we would not fear what we don't understand and thus are able to better live side by side. I'm not saying we all do this, but I'm an American Traveler who does study culture, who understands, and is very open minded. Being a good traveler means being able to step out of your comfort zone and into their zone of comfort, this is by no means easy. I apply these principles of study and understand to my entire life, I  have learned of things I might never of thought of, met people from all around the globe, and tasted things good and bad. You take the comfort of being a human being on this earth first then go from

Rollin' on Dubs: Monster Energy Drank!

Nerds need caffeine, we just don't get stuff done without it. So when I really need to get something done I reach for something big and tasty.

Dubs on the Mic

By chance I came across this Monster sitting on the bottom shelf of the fridge at my local 7-11 and it was instant love with this Dub. Why is it hidden on the bottom shelf? This stuff is good, so good I wish they would sell it in smaller cans all year round. Well the huge size is perfect for the caffeine fiend who likes to sip and seal, this beverage stays nice and fuzzy all day long because of its resealable cap. You will need it unless you want to drink 32Oz's of monster in one sitting, which is 4 servings according to the can.

Aion patch 2.0 english notes posted!

I'm so glad NC Soft posted these today.

New Content

I must say the amount of content coming out soon in the 1.9 patch and now 2.0 is quite a bit. This really restores some of my faith in NC Soft. In the past NC soft would show us content to come and then it would never be published, and so many consumers lost faith in them. But things are changing with Aion and so far so good. HERE
