Day Three, Sunday, somewhere in the middle of Saturday night it became Sunday and we have to check out soon bummer. Much like everyone else Sunday is like the hangover from a hard party on both Friday and Saturday. You’re worn down, you might smell bad, and you had a darn good night last night/sometime this morning. Wasabi Sunday was still a load of fun, and we did manage to get up in time to get to a few good panels, shop the dealers room for sales, and get a few more photo shoots in.

Check out line was bad, really bad, like waited for an hour bad. Our checkout time was an impressive 38 minutes. Some of the folks at the back of the line were not so lucky. Breakfast was good, and the food offered at the buffet was okay. Honestly I like this hotel it’s not the best but I don’t care for the best, and it’s not always pretty but it has plenty of parking spots and is photo magic. The cost is very reasonable and service was friendly.

I sat in on the end of Cosplay Chess and through the KT Grey Concert both events were enjoyable though the chess was a bit dull at times, I think it could have used some format adjustments. KT Grey Concert was enjoyable, the music was smooth and really relaxing, I was surprised the turnout was low for what I thought was a rather heart felt concert. If they come back for next years Wasabi I’d highly suggest you check them out.

One animeroot crew dropped in for the Build your own arcade stick panel, which was taking place at the same time as the concert. Fatsobob said “I was neat and I learned a lot  about fighting sticks and how they are constructed” he continues “It was a good panel until about half way through when the next panel started to leak into the fight stick panel” At this point I was told that staff had let the next panel in and did nothing when they started getting rowdy and allowed the  obnoxiousness to continue. He finishes with ” I was a good panel and I would recommend it for those interested in arcade sticks, but it was ruined by a annoying vampire conversation that spun out of control.” Sounds interesting to me, but it seems some rules needed to be applied here and were not.

After the Concert and conversation with my fellow crew I broke out my camera and went photo shooting for the rest of the afternoon, the rest of the animeroot crew split up and visited other panels and places. Some of the crew found them selves in trivia and others were checking out the Sunday game scene.

Scumbag anime Trivia was a highlight for writer Yudothat, he say’s “It was high level, recent anime and nerd trivia” he further stated “The game was fun, team based, and the hosts were very knowledgeable”. The panel was hosted by an anime club from the Colorado School of Mines. Next level trivia and witty comedy were a plenty and the fun times continued through the entire panel. If Scumbag trivia makes a return I’d say go for it.

Shortly after that our staff had to pack up our gear and head out for the year. And what A year it was, honestly the best Wasabi yet, and we’ve been attending since the start five years back, so we are witness to the growth and steady change of this convention. I must say it has come a long way, and still has some growing up to do but honestly I like it just the way it is.
