This was a post I actually ran into on a few other sources but it is a question that I have been asked countless times, by many people unfamiliar or just breaking into Anime. The person that actually created this post brings up some good points and the video its self adds a somewhat convincing opinion as to ‘why’ it is believed.

Why do the Japanese draw themselves as white? You see that especially in manga and anime.

With September creeping up on us, so does the release of many great games. Just one of these is the awaited expansion to the MMO with a lot of the ‘improvements’ shown in the vision mentioned here. Right from the get go, the first thing you’ll notice is the change to to the log-in screen which has been completely revamped, in addition to randomized with around six-in-total logins.

Surely not Haruhi.. This one is different.. Kinda

For many of us that are up to date with this seasons anime, there is a huge selection of title. Among the few sequals I.E. K-On!!, Ikkitousen: Xtreme Xecutor and Da Capo there are big name companies rolling out new series as well. Angel Beats! is produced by P.A Works, with the orginal story created by Studio Key (AIR, Clannad, Little Busters). For those that aren’t familar with Angel Beats!;

Angel Beats! Takes place in a world after death, angels fight for their fate and their future. Yuri, the leader of the Shinda Sekai Sensen, rebels against the god who destined her to have an unreasonable life. On the other hand, Tenshi, the chairperson of the student council for the world after death, battles against the SSS members. SSS members utilize armed weaponry to battle it out against the angels harnessing supernatural powers.

RedJuice's Kagamine Rin

When it comes down to artists there are a lot of them, but this one in particular caught my eye and has done for some time.. without me actually knowing who he was. With the growing popularity of Hatsune Miku and the other vocaloids, it wouldn’t be a surprise if you all knew of this artist as well.

(Reposted from polymetrica@Tumblr)

Long overdue coverage on the incredible redjuice (also known as しる, which he says is equivalent to the Mike of Michael, because juice in Japanese is “shiru”.), remembered because of icie’s lovely coverage of the Summer 09 issue of Gelatin, in which redjuice participated in.

The Animeroot crew rolled out and arrived at the DTC around late morning on Friday. The first thing that we noticed was that the hotel parking lot was already piling up at 10:30AM. After sorting a few minor issues with our rooms, we collected our badges and setup HQ in the rooms.
The first event on our list was Opening Ceremonies which left us with some time to kill, we decided to troll for photos of the cosplayers before finally hitting the dealers room.  Zion, Crash and myself picked up a few items. One of the items Zion picked up being particularly interesting in the sense that it was a figure with fuzzy ears and a tail. Zion might make a quick review about this sometime.

Once it neared time for the Opening Ceremony we headed over to erect the audio/video setup as well as take a few still photos. Overall, I think the Opening Ceremony was

rather informative as to who the guests were, especially since we have a few first time con-goers in our group this year.
There were also some big announcements made, the main one being that there is a NDK New Years Costume Ball planned. If this will be a classic “Mask and Tux/Dress” ball or a Cosplay ball it isn’t really certain but we have a feeling it is going to be leaning more towards the cosplay type. Closely followed by Opening Ceremonies was Miki Nagasawa’s Panel. At the request of the guest no audio/video recording was allowed at the panel, however a few pictures are available in the gallery.

It is not new by any means new news but Bandai has gone and created an alarm clock.. which they conveniently named “Gun o’ Clock”. It is essentially a clock with a big target on top with a gun accessory. While this is all fine and dandy.. it is their advertisement scheme that is priceless. Click the “Read more” tab for animated demonstration on how it works. Its’ cool!

Day 4 of anime expo was mostly just dealers room and autographs. The only other things really going on is closing ceremonies and origami (lawl). We bought a couple artbooks  and a few other last minute items that we just couldn’t live without. Its’ been a good con overall.. and we don’t get on the road to Colorado till tomorrow. The rest of the day is looking to be prep.

Ah.. Twin Drives.

With the majority of the shows ending this week, I wanted to somewhat recap -most- of them and give them a generic rating based on if I watched them, dropped them or felt a neutral stance about them.

Maria-sama ga Miteru 4th
Skip Beat!
Shounen/Mixed
Maria+Hollic
Kidou Senshi Gundam 00 Season 2
