Tera Beta Review

[jcarousel source="post" link="image" size="200x200" limit="3" items="3" speed="400" margin="10"]

Before you rage out read the title, this is a beta  review. It is based on my experience thus far with the beta of Tear online for North America. This is not a final review or ruling as the game is changing week to week, patch to patch. The developers have been putting a lot into the game, fixing translation problems, bugs, and all sorts of problems. The approach has been very proactive and very community involved which is a good thing. For all the flaws found thus far, the localization team has had an answer, or a forum post, or a patch note to address it with. This is once again a good thing, “They are listening to the players” to an extent of course. Ok let’s kick this off by explaining that my review will be broken into several categories to keep it simple.

What is Tera Online? Tera, also known as The Exiled Realm of Arborea is a fantasy massively multiplayer online role-playing game, developed by blueholestudio and published by En Masse Entertainment in the US and Frogster Interactive in the EU. TERA was released in Korea on the 25th of January 2011. The game is scheduled to be released in the US on the 1st of May 2012 and in the EU on the 3rd of May 2012. It features questing, player-versus-player combat, player-versus-environment combat as well as crafting. In short it’s a MMORPG, and you have your choice for open world PvP or just PVE with controlled PvP.

Game Review: Recettear: An item shop’s Tale

This game is addicting and so much fun, well worth the $20.00 price tag on Steam.
Today I bring you my little review of the title Recettear. Recettear is the story of an item shop as run by Recette Lemongrass who finds herself in charge of the shop built into her house because of her fathers debts. Recette’s father was great adventurer who took out massive loans to support himself and has not returned from his last great endeavor. Leaving Recette with a massive debt to repay or the bank will repo the family house. Tear, her newfound fairy “companion”, who is the bill collector sent from the bank befriends Recette and helps you break into the item sales market. Tear does the majority of the tutorials and will give you helpful advice throughout the game. Pay attention to Tear she will steer you the correct way almost every time.
As Recette, you have to decide how you’ll get your inventory stocked, either through playing the markets in town and crafting or going out into the wild with an adventuring friend and killing mobs for their loot. If you like slaying monster then dungeon adventures will be your primary method for acquiring stock and rare items. Continue reading

Halo Reach Review

If you own an XBOX 360 you pretty much must own this title, if you have never played a Halo game before this is a good one to start on. If your not a fan of FPS or Halo well then your not going care regardless of what I say. I could do huge writeup on this one but what I have to say has pretty much been said everywhere and by everyone, so I’m leaving you with a link to reviews and the XPlay Review! Enjoy

Guest Short Review: Super Street Fighter IV

Super Street Fighter IV – The new Street Fighter is here to join its brother amongst our shelves and expecting the same amount of play time as the first installment of Street Fighter IV.  In this review I will talk about the minor changes to the actual game play while certain characters got changed a lot. Also I will be talking about what other changes that this has brought with it.

First thing is the instant notice of more characters. Capcom has included 10 “New” characters to the roster making it a whopping total of 35 to choose from. Some of these characters are returning from past games (Dee Jay, T. Hawk, Adon, Makoto, Ibuki, and Dudley) and some are making an entirely new appearance (Hakan, Juri, Cody, Guy). If you bought some of the character outfits for the first Street Fighter IV, they are available in this installment as long as they are still on your hard drive.

Character Fixes - This is a widely discussed topic because it is a feud who is over powered and who is just balanced for the game all around. Everyone that makes a return trip from the previous Street Fighter IV got new ultra combo that add variety to each character. The character that got the nerf bat the most is Sagat by far; he is a lot slower and also doesn’t move across the screen with his tiger knee anymore.

New Modes – The new modes that are in the game are the bonus levels from the old street fighters. The trials have also received changes in the way that each trial is only one move unlike the other one where it was a set of moves. Barrel smashing is only so much fun till it gets old, and same with the car, I’m glad they included the option to skip these mini games.

Online – Most of the online still stays. Capcom added a couple more options ranging from endless battle (Player Matches), to team battles. In the online mode you can watch people play while 2 people fight in the endless battle modes. Matchmaking is slightly faster than SF4 and tons more stable.

Overall the game is great but not much of a difference to the people that just play and are happy with the game. For the hardcore fighting people then there are substantial changes that you will notice and love them or hate them completely. It is not a full $60 so if you are interested in the new characters and want to experience the new changes then I recommend you picking this up.

Expanded content: Mass Effect 2 – Kasumi

So I spent the last few days drilling my way through Mass Effect 2 and its new content.

Kasumi

There were several free downloads and 2 new pay content downloads. One being new costumes for a few of the male crew and the other being Kasumi a new female crew member to join your team.

With the download comes a few new missions, new casual formal wear, new weapons, and new options for combat and more Shepard drinking. For about 5 bucks its a great value and overall I’m happy with the new content. The only thing I’m going to mention is that Kasumi does not look, sound or feel Japanese, and her Japanese is bad, laughable at times. But again this is me nit picking it.  I don’t want to go into detail about it, as it is enjoyable content that you must play if you love mass effect. Check out Bioware for more info - LINK HERE-

Kasumi’ s  Stolen Memory

Cerberus has procured the service of Kasumi Goto, the galaxy’s most enigmatic master thief. In return for her help, Kasumi has asked Shepard’s help on a dangerous heist to infiltrate the vault of a deadly master criminal named Donovan Hock.

Kasumi – Stolen Memory includes a new squad member, mission, weapon, research upgrade, casual outfit, and achievement.
