A few days ago I posted an article about the rumors floating around about the surplus XP system, well these rumors are only found to be some what true but mostly lacking solid facts. I recently found an article that pretty much points out exactly what my thoughts on the system are. Here is short clip from the top of the article and a link to the full article. Many thanks to some honest beta players and Giuseppe Nelva of “This is my Joystick.com” for bringing some truth to the table. I understand that many gamers are rather upset about this system if you are one of them please read the linked article it best explains the system and does it honestly.
Link here please read me!
In the last few days some “information” about the so called “fatigue” system in the upcoming MMORPG Final Fantasy XIV by Square Enix (you can also read my in-depth hands on article), stirred a real uproar across the internet.
A few misleading articles by the otaku site Sankaku Complex, full of mistranslations and omissions that seemed quite intentional, given the past hate-filled articles by the site on anything pertaining Square Enix. These misconceptions spread like wildfire and gave the general audience a quite warped vision of the system and the game. Unfortunately even more sanctioned websites decided to approach the matter in a sensationalistic way, also omitting some crucial information.

Mithra from 11
The entire Final Fantasy 14 community has been up in arms about a recent press release in regards to the Surplus XP system by game director Nobuaki Komoto . This Press release was not intended to be viewed by North American or European regions but rather has been translated by various communities and distributed via forums and Social networking. Many Gamers are outraged over the idea of the use of the system so much so that they are canceling their pre-order and telling others to follow suit.
Community leaders are currently not commenting on this and Square has yet to Post any response on the subject, avoiding conflict but at the same time allowing this rumor or fact to spread throughout the world. Some gamers are viewing this system as a positive for casual gamers with less then 15 hours a week to play, stating such things as ” I have a job, a family and other games to play I don’t care to dedicate more than 10-15 hours per week to this game.” The other side of this argument states that ” I’m paying for a service that should be unlimited, I used to play Final Fantasy 11 and it was unlimited so why change that system, you are only going to drive away your fans with this system.” Consumers state that since they are paying for the game and the service that they should be able to play as much as they want without some experience penalty that will in the long run destroy the community. Debate will continue to rage between both of the sides of the argument and its interpretation, and until Square steps in and clears the air with some clarity gamers will continue to lose faith in the game. We will continue to research this news and let you know if we can confirm or deny any of the current rumors or facts.
Below is a translated version of the release by community member Savalithos of the FFXIVCore.com:

As of a few days ago Blizzard has been releasing short previews of the class changes.

Oh yeah, Litch King is back!
They have been releasing them a few at a time and for once Paladins won’t get to see their changes until after everyone else. Currently the class changes for Shaman, Priest, Warlock, and Death Knight are out. Rogues info will be released later today and (Hunter, Druid, Mage) are due to be released April 9th. Paladin changes won’t be released until April 16th.
The class changes so far seem promising and for the most part balanced for once ;( or as balanced as a blizzard game can get). I have yet to finish reading all of them but from what I have read (Shaman, Warlock, Priest, Warrior) they seem to be pretty fair. Also the Death Knight class can tank in Cataclysm, allegedly. So far it seems as if healing will not only be more engaging but raid and tank healing as disc priest is now viable (Finally). Also Shadow Priests are getting a minor DPS buff for the shorter fights, burst damage when and where Dots don’t do much.
Warriors get a heroic leap again and warlocks will still be powerful but slightly more manageable. Cataclysm presents a few conflicting ideas at least for myself; The class changes so far sound promising but the downside is that Cataclysm doesn’t have any original content. Except for the new Goblin and Worgen races Blizzard is just rehashing old raids/content; the same thing they did in Lich King until Toc, and ICC.
I like the Changes a lot but I want to play new content. As far as me returning to Wow it is still to be determined. Please Blizzard quit re-frosting the Vanilla cake with different icing, give us some new content. Quit complicating things by adding new classes and give us something we haven’t seen. That’s all the information posted right now but if you want the live updates you can check here: http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/board.html?forumId=78416&sid=1.

FF XIII
Just so you know Final Fantasy XIII comes out tomorrow, but tonight there are various Game Stops and Best Buys having Midnight releases. You will have to look up your local stores as not all the stores are doing the midnight release.
We are going to Game Stop near by us, but I heard if you Cosplay a Final Fantasy character at a Best Buy tonight you could win your copy for free, though this is a rumor.
I’ve been curious to play this game, I want to feel and see what it has to offer. Many reviewers love it, and many fan boys hate it for being too linear. I want to play it and find out the truth.
Just a heads up, I hope to have a review of the game sometime in near future.
